Announcement about 2011 Screenings Info

The Beijing Municipal Government has decided to hold Beijing International Film Festival (北京国际电影季) screenings from April 23-28.
We are rapidly preparing prior years' selections and incoming 2011 submissions for their review.

All submitted movies for the 2011 season are in consideration for these events, however the government censorship offices are
very restrictive:

"Film Requirement:
The works exclude any content that violates the Constitution of the People’s Republic of China and any other laws and regulations of PRC;
Any works and source materials must not infringe any third party’s copyright, trademark rights and other intellectual property rights and exclusive rights, nor infringe any third party’s right in any way; content of works should not involve other countries’ ideologies and religious beliefs"

"参展影片要求:

作品不含任何违反《中华人民共和国宪法》

及其他任何法律法规的内容;

This means that a scant few filmmakers will be selected and invited to present their works in April. So if your confidence exceeds your caution, stand by for notification by the middle of March. We apologize for the tight schedule, but it's not under our control. Like a feature film, this festival event requires many departments and contractors to all work together.

Our submissions form currently says we will hold Beijing International Movie Festival (国际电影交流大会) screenings in June. This has changed.
Our other Chinese government partners at the Central Newsreel and Documentary Film Studio (中国中央新闻纪录电影制片厂) have told us that October is better.
And it is, we have more time to promote and prepare!
